Cute Picture Book about Homeschooling

Charlie Goes to School

I love to read my daughter picture books. She loves the series of books about Charlie the Ranch Dog written by the Pioneer Woman Ree Drummond. I knew Drummond was a homeschooler, but the cover of Charlie Goes to School looked like it would be about a traditional school. I was pleasantly surprised to discover it was about homeschooling! Charlie sees all the members of his ranch family busy doing schoolwork at their house. Inspired, Charlie decides he’s going to start a school for the animals on the ranch. He soon discovers that teaching school isn’t as easy as he thought.

As a bonus, there is a recipe for “Charlie’s Favorite Strawberry Oatmeal Bars” which I made and were quite delicious.

In a world full of picture books about going to traditional school, Charlie Goes to School is a treasure for homeschoolers!
