Help Children Explore Sorrowful Mysteries of the Rosary

Sharing the Sorrow is the second book in Theresa Linden’s Caitlyn and Peter’s Rosary Adventures series, a follow-up to Jumping into Joy (about the Joyful Mysteries of the Rosary). In this story, Peter and Caitlyn decide to once again search for the Portal to the Rosary Mysteries, this time to explore the Sorrowful Mysteries: The Agony in the Garden, The Scourging at the Pillar, The Crowning with Thorns, The Carrying of the Cross, and The Crucifixion.

They worry about being sad, but decide that witnessing the events of Jesus’ life and discovering the virtues associated with the mysteries is worth the risk. Peter and Caitlyn walk with Jesus from the Garden of Gethsemane, through his suffering at the hands of the soldiers, his carrying of the cross, and his death at Calvary. Along the way, they discover the virtues of being sorry for sin, courage, patience in suffering, carrying one’s crosses, and forgiveness. The whole book is designed to help children be more open to carrying the crosses in their own lives for Jesus.

Jumping into Joy and Sharing the Sorrow are both lovely ways to help children ages 5-9 learn to reflect and meditate on the mysteries of the Rosary.
