Help Children Learn about Joyful Mysteries of the Rosary

Jumping into Joy: Caitlyn and Peter’s Rosary Adventures, written by Theresa Linden and illustrated by Kelsey Doherty, is an innovative way to teach young children about the Joyful Mysteries of the Rosary.

Caitlyn and Peter are nine-year-old friends whose families get together to pray the Rosary and spend time together. But Peter finds repeating the prayers puts him to sleep. Caitlyn tells him he is supposed to think about the mysteries, but he doesn’t know how.

She leads him to a special portal in the woods that allows them to time travel and see the mysteries as they happen in the lives of Mary and Jesus. In this installment of the series, they are visiting the Joyful Mysteries: The Annunciation, The Visitation, The Birth of Jesus, The Presentation of the Child Jesus in the Temple, and The Finding of the Child Jesus in the Temple. They also discover the virtues that correspond with each mystery.

This creative story in the style of the Magic Treehouse books and the Chime Travelers series will help children understand and think about the mysteries of the Rosary. This new series aimed at children ages six through nine could be used as part of a Catholic homeschool religion class. Jumping into Joy is a welcome addition to any Catholic home, school, or parish library collection.
