How Your Body Works Series of Books

How Your Body WorksLooking for some interesting books to introduce your child to the systems of the human body? Thomas Canavan has recently come out with the How Your Body Works series, published by Arcturus Publishing Limited. The books in the series include: Sensing the World (The Nervous System), Ready for Action (Bones and Muscles), Fighting Illness and Injury (The Immune System), Fueling the Body (Nutrition and Digestion), Fit and Healthy (Heart, Lungs, and Hormones), and Growth and Development (Cells and DNA).

These books are colorful, informative, and filled with fun facts. While an advanced younger child with interest in the body could benefit from them, they are best for middle school and above. They don’t provide an in-depth look at any one feature of the body or use highly technical terms, instead providing an overview – equipping young people (and adults!) with a basic understanding of how the human body functions.
