After 15 years of differently-wired parenting, I’ve learned:
It’s okay to be afraid.
It’s okay if your voice shakes, if you stumble over your words when you’re advocating for a kiddo.
It’s okay if you dread taking them to therapy.
It’s okay if you’ve wished for a different normal.
It’s okay if you get tired or weary and every cell in your body craves for a moment away from all of it - the house, the kids, everything.
None of this makes you a bad mom.
It means you are human.
It means you love those children so much that you feel it with every fiber of being.
It means that you are brave, because despite all the struggles and the fears and the sleepless nights, you are fiercely, completely, wholly their mother and you are so, so proud of who they are and who they will become.
It means that you do not give up, because you know you can do all things through through Christ who strengthens you -
