Time to Start Praying for the New Homeschool Year

rosary prayerI just flipped over my calendar to August. The first day of our homeschool is highlighted on the 29th. I would like to say that is a day I look forward to, but I really don’t. I’m thankful for homeschooling. For our family, it works so much better than traditional school, but that doesn’t mean it is easy. After doing this for eight years, I know there will be some good days, but I also know there will plenty of horrible moments thrown in the mix.

I can’t homeschool without God’s help. (Honestly, I feel like I barely survive even with it, but my children and I are all still here so that is a good sign). I started a Rosary Novena last week for our new school year, that the children learn what they should and that I’ll help them in the way that is best for them. In addition, I pray every day for our homeschool and the homeschool co-op we belong to.

Heather Bowen is starting a 30 Days of Praying for Your Homeschool on her website. You might want to check it out.

However you choose to pray for your homeschool, definitely bring your cares and concerns and your children to God. Ask for His help. He gave us our children and called us to homeschool. He’s the only one who can give us the help and the grace that we need to make it through the year.
